A minty mask for hot summer nights (and days too)

Hello lushies!
Since I ordered several new products last week, and I was soooo excited by the new ones, I just want share to share my wonderful lush experiences with you lushies!
This week end in France was quite hot, a real summer day! I got my towel out to sunbath in my garden and i got really warm, that's when i thought of trying mask of magnaminty! A minty face mask ought to refresh me! And it perfectly fulfilled its expectations! While i gently refreshed my face while I had it on, after removing it my skin felt nice, clean and fresh! Its awesome after a long day at work in summer too!
And an extra benefit, its meant to be great for big spots! I hope thats true!
Since its summer, take that time to try it and love it!

Big for your hair!

Hiya lovely lushies!
I've been away a while since I was busy, but today I am back to talk abaut big shampoo!
Big is aweeesome! First of all, it has a weird aspect, but that is all due to the salt in it! Big pieces of salt! It tickle's your hands when you use it! Mix it with lemon, citrus and vanilla, it will give your hair great volume and make them really soft!
I permed my hair in january and even though nice cut was nice to give some volume back, after using it, it was even better!
My sister also tried it, and also found it gave volume to her hair, which she hated! But she just could not resist that beautiful smell! Because yes, the smell is wonderful, it will stay in your hair for a looong time and you will not stop smelling them!
I guess that's it for big, all that is left now is for you lushies to try it!

Emotional Brilliance, or how to look great day and night!

Hiya Lushies,

It's been a while! I am still a lush addict, and spent most of my Xmas money on Lush this year! Of course I got myself the unmisable and absolutely gorgeous snow fairy (got myself 2 bottles of 500g this year! :D). But I mostly got some make up!!

Emotional Brilliance, remember, it's the new Lush make up range, with gorgeous colours, and great for everyone!

Well, after I got myself happiness eyeshadow, I had to add an eyeliner, the mascara and a lipstick! Which I collected over the months!

Let's start with the eyeliner. I wanted to get one I would use everyday, so I got Independant, the black eyeliner! And I loooove it (I guess it doesn't surprise anyone ;) )! It is easy to put on, the brush is quite thin so you can apply it for a thin or a large width, it dries quite quickly (thus it usually doesn't smudge) and it is REALLY long lasting (you can for example rub your eye midday, you won't end up with a black finger and no eyeliner left on your eye!)! According to lush website, fantasy is based on the same formula and will also dry quickly and not smudge!
There is but one negative point, the brush from my product doesn't always stay on the lid, and therefore I sometimes end up having to take it with my fingers and get product all over them! To solve the problem, I asked for extra brushes which I got and it should be better!

So after getting the eyeliner, I needed the mascara (of course!)! Eyes Right is Lush's Mascara, it's soft, comfortable to wear, it looks nice and subtle, but if you apply several layers, it is more pronounced, and perfect to go out at night, and most of all it is great for sensitive eyes since it only contains 1 preservative (almost 5 times less than ones from other brands). I like how it sets quickly and doesn't smear, nor does it create packages on your lashes! A must have if you want to get some Emotional Brilliance!

Finally, I wanted to get a lipstick, to complete the look! It was hard to choose a colour, I wanted something soft (I already have a million kisses for bright red lipstick!) and I ended chosing the beatiful, soft, two-toned pink: Bubbly! And I think it goes quite well with my character! :) Well Lushies, I have gotten it today and tried it on and already I love it! It feels really soft on the lips, very moisturizing, the colour is very pretty, it can be light if you only use a little, or more pronounced if you use it some more! And one thing I love about it is that it can be used as a blusher! YES it can! I was afraid it would feel weird, maybe greasy, but no! You just a little bit of your product on your cheek, rub it so the colour stays light and then that's it, just a nice, light blusher!

Well, that's it for tonight Lushies, hope you enjoyed this article and it will make you want to get some Emotional Brilliance!

Emotional Brilliance

Hiya Lushies!

Hope you are all well! I, personally, am great! I have just moved back to France!

When I first arrived home, I thought "Oh no, no Lush shop close to where I live :'(" But this week, loads of great news. The first one is especially for the Lushies in France, and more specifically in the Loiret, as it was the grand opening of a shop in Orléans! The staff seems really nice, and although they are really packed with clients, they were very helpful! (not surprising ;-) ) For those interested it is on the "rue de la republique"!

But now, on to the news that will get you all really interested! Today was the international launch of Emotional Brilliance! You have been wondering, and waiting to see what it is, now we know: it is an awesome make up range!

Many products were launched: new colours to tint the skin, some powder, mascara, eyeliners, eyeshadows and lipsticks! With loads of colours, all more beautiful than the other!

It is based on colours showing some aspects of your personality, and you wear them depending on your state of mind, not to go with your outfit.

How does it work?

First, you spin the wheel, where all colours are displayed. Then you choose the first 3 colours that catch your eyes, not because it is your favourite colour, or because you think it would go great with that gorgeous new dress you just got, but because the colour really caught you eye!

The first colour will represent your strength/weakness, then the second one will represent what your subconcious wants/needs, and the third colour represents what you need to achieve your subconscious needs!

My reading was as follow: Charm was my strength, my subconscious needed to lead, and to do this I would do it with happiness!

I ended up getting only happiness, the golden cream eyeshadow (I will try other products later, and will let you know how they go!) I love the colour, it can be used to go out when used not rubbed into your skin (top line on my hand on the picture), or everyday if you rub it in (bottom line). It dries rather quickly, the pigment is very deep, and the colour stays for a really long time!

I heard the cream shadows can also be used as lipsticks and lipsticks as shadows!

The only negative point is the price, as it is quite expensive to buy! But as always, you can be sure of what you put on your skin/eyes! All we need to check now is how long it lasts, but I am sure it lasts a really long time!

If I were you Lushies, I would run to the closest shop to get my own reading (although you can have your reading done on the lush website) and then get my own emotional brilliance product(s)

Enjoy Lushies!

Great legs with Buffy!

Hiya Lushies,

I have been away for quite some time, sorry! I was on Holidays and did not use my computer much, then I had to get ready and sit my resits (which I passed ^^)! And now I am back after having tried some amaaaazing products!!

And today, I want to write about one of the most awesome of Lush's product, which I would describe as WOW!

This product is the solid body butter Buffy. And Lushies love it sooo much that this body butter, contrary to aquamaribilis and You Snap the Whip, exists in 2 sizes, 1 big and 1 small!

So what does it do, and why is it so awesome?

Easy! Do you have problems of cellulite? Let's face it, most of us probably do, even though some more than others (I'd be in the more category)! Then Buffy is great for that! It is also great, no matter what!!

I always thought that massaging and rubbing problematic zones (thighs) would help get rid of the cellulite, but it never worked! And then, I went in Lush Preston, after reading about Buffy, and I was told that the truth was, moisturizing is what helps to get rid of cellulite! And buffy is a great body moisturizer!

Not only is it great to moisturize your skin, but it is also full of ground rice and ground almond, which gives it a nice nutty smell, and this is great for exfoliating!

How to use?

First, thing I do now with my body butters when I come home is this: I cut it in many little pieces! This is good when you use the body butter only on certain parts of your body, and it will help to make Buffy last longer, like this you don't put the whole bar under water where it melts! Then take a shower, and on clean wet skin, you rub Buffy until you feel satisfied! Then rinse the ground almond and ground rice! When you exit the shower, pat the skin dry, don't rub with the towel, or you might remove some of the oils!

After a couple of uses you should see the cellulite has gone down! And it's great, because you don't have to use a body lotion after your shower!

So here you have it, Buffy, a great product for the summer! One last tip given to me today at Lush Bluewater: if you exfoliate your skin, your tan will last longer! So what are you waiting for? No excuses not ta have great legs this summer!

^^

New products?

Hi Lushies,

I don't know if any of you has seen this, but it seems that Lush is about to release new products.

Emotional Brilliance is coming on the 21st of July. We don't really know what it is, but seeing the last page of the Lush times, and the "emotional brilliance" video (see it here), it might be a long awaited make up range!

That would be awesome!

My feeling is that it will be some makeup, maybe some eyeshadows and blushers, and it seems some other lushies think it could be some nail polish!

Well, until we know for sure on the 21st of July, feel free to give your opinion!

Byebye Lushies.

My summer perfume

Hi Lushies,

Sorry, I've been away for a while, I had exams, and then I didn't have a good internet.

Today, I want to tell you all about my summer fragrance. I've told you about Lustre already, which I used this weekend. It was absolutely great! I did 3 days of camping, with no toilets and especially no bathroom. So after a very tiny cleaning (as much as I could), I would put on a bit of Lustre, and I would smell really nice, I also feel like it kept me rather dry, not sweating even though it was very sunny and warm this weekend! And because it was so sunny, the glitter was really shiny! Loved it!

So Lustre, the fragrance of this product is also a wonderful, jasmine scented perfume! I loooove it! It smells really gorgeous, and even better with the smell of the sun, and the warmth! It's really great. The fragrance of flowers is really perfect for the summer!

I am currently using the solid perfume, and it's really nice! A bit behing your ears, inside your elbows, inside your wrists, and your ready to go!

You can also sometimes put some at the end of your hair, its great to smell it all day.

Two negative sides to the Lust solid perfume (which are quite minor things): 1- If you have oily hair, I would advise you not to put the perfume on your hair, it will make them a bit more oily. 2- Be careful of the red colour, it can stain your clothes (not permanently!)!

All in all, I really love this smell, and it will be my summer fragrance!

Bye bye lushies!

Lush campaign against animal testing!

Hi lushies,

Today is a special article about one of Lush's campaign: the fight against animal testing.

I honestly believed that animal testing had been forbidden in Europe, I just recently learned the true nature of the situation, and was quite shocked!

Some cosmetic companies in Europe (even though it is supposed to be banned by the EU) and in the rest of the world still test there cosmetics on animals. And of course animals are not well treated. I don't think I could tell very well what the situation is today, I am no real expert, so I really encourage you to go on lush website to learn more:
Lush campaigns
Lush campaign: testing policies

Most of all, please go on this page and sign the petition to fight animal testing!

Please sign the petition! Thanks Lushies!

sweetie pie

Hi Lushies,

I think today is the perfect day to talk about a great summer product (it can also be used all year long!)!
I am talking about shower jellies! I will come later on to explain why I believe its a summer product!

For the little story, on my bday this year 3 friends got me a lush gift card, but one of them had never tried lush so I promised her on her bday she would get a lush goodie! So here comes her bday, and I want to get her something only lush has, except bath bombs since I am not sure if she has a bathtub! After a visit to Lush Preston, I make my mind on a gorgeous sweetie pie! (gave her the next day, and she really enjoyed it :D )! But then I thought, I've never tried a shower jelly either! So here I am, back to lush getting myself one too!

The girls at lush preston gave me great advice on how to use it! You can take the whole thing and wash yourself like this, pop a little piece on a shower puff, but my favourite way of using it is: put it in the freezer, when its cold (doesn't get hard), take a shower washing yourself with the whole jelly! It is cold, soft, very refreshing! So here we are, this is the reason why I think it will be great for the warm days of summer! It is also really great after a good work out session! You are sweaty and hot pop under the shower with your frozen jelly, its great! The most refreshing is to wash your face with it, it really helps to cool down!

More about sweetie pie then! I love the colour and the glitter there is in there, very girly with the sparkle, but not that girly with the deep purple! Then the smell! It's cherry and cassis heaven! Smells really sweet, with a bit of punch thanks to the cassis, like a cherry-cassis candy! There is also coconut infusion and seaweed gel in there to soften your skin!

One other use for the jelly: you can wash your hair with it, and your hair will be left smelling really sweet and lovely for quite a long time!

So, what are you waiting for? you can go get some right now and try it right away! Or you can wait until the weather gets warmer! -_^

That's it for today!

Byebye Lushies!

Smelling so gooood after the shower

Hi lushies,

In this post, I want to talk about one product that is going in my list of top favourite products: Ro's Argan!

I have to admit, I am currently in a period where I really like all that is pink (hope my lovely sister, who hates pink won't see that ^_-)! And this product fits in perfectly with this mood!

It is a body conditioner! Like a hair conditioner, you put on your skin after you washed, and then you rinse it off. It might leave you feeling oily, but when you dry off, you will be left feelin rally soft, and your skin will be hydrated, so no need for a body lotion!

But one of the reason why I love it so much is the smell! It smells of rose, sweet rose! And the smell will stay with you four hours!!

In it are loads of ingredients to nourish your skin, so its perfect! One of this ingredient is Argan oil. It can be found in Morocco, is full of vitamin E, and is said to have anti-ageing properties!

So a product that makes your skin really soft, nourishes it, makes you smell of beautifully sweet rose and has anti-ageing properties: What can you ask more?

Feel free to give it a go some day under the shower, and enjoy it!

Bye lushies!

Shine with Lustre

Hi Lushies,

As you my UK and French readers might have noticed, a few weeks ago, we've had beautiful weather, which is sadly gone now. However, I had time to make the best of it! And for me this also means being beautiful and summery when going out (day and night)!

Here is what I believe is a great companion during the sunny days: Lustre!

Lustre is a Jasmine, ylang ylang scented yelow powder. It smells gorgeous, makes me want to sniff my skin all day long! But that is not the only gorgeous thing with Lustre. There is very fine glitter in the powder! When you put it on, your skin looks slightly tanned and glittery. The glitter is very discreet, it really only shine under the sun's light or white light, which is why I believe it is perfect for sunny days!

This powder will leave you feeling fresh and smelling gorgeous! Just put a bit of powder on your skin (I usually apply it on my arms and cleavage!), rub so as to have powder everywhere, and now, you're ready to go.

Price wise, it seems to be a little bit expensive, however you do not use that much, and it will take you a long time to finish your bottle. This is why I think that overall it is not very expensive!

Give it a try next time the sun comes out and you can show a bit of skin!

Byebye lushies!

Oily hair be gone!

Hi lushies,

Sorry I have been quite busy and then I was on busy holidays, so I haven't written here for a while! But here is a new post especially meant for those of you who have oily hair!

I have now been using beautifully fruity I love Juicy shampoo, combined with great conditioner Veganese! And here is the result on my hair: At first, yes my hair were clean, not getting oily the day after I washed them! And that for me was wonderful!

A month later, the results are even more brilliant than I could have imagined! For the past 3 weeks, I haven't even seen the shadow of an oily hair! My hair stay beautiful, soft, clean for well over 2 days! I can go 3 days without washing my head and I would be the only one knowing beacause it would be barely noticeable!

I do believe though that sometimes, it is good to alternate with a different shampoo! So once in a while, instead of using I love Juicy, I clean my hair with Squeeky Green solid shampoo, which is great too!

So here you go lushies, that was my perfect combination to get rid of oily hair!

Until next time, enjoy your lush goodies!

Lush preston's facebook fan's party!!!

Hello Lushies!

Wednesday night was party night in Lush! It was a wonderful evening!!!!!

What did we do? many things! We had the chance to make our very own facemask with fresh ingredients! If you had booked a slot, you could also be treated to a wonderful facial! Nibbles were available :)! And we had the shop to ourselves with explanation on the different products! It was really nice!

So I got to do my very own face mask, and here is what I put in there: Honey as an antibacterial, lavender oil for the smell, aloe gel to soothe, kiwi to make my skin glow and look younger, oat for a soft exfoliation, ginger and linseed. The funny thing about linseed is that when you poor boiling water on it, it maker a really soft and light sort of oil, but its not oil!

But enough with words, here are a few pictures! (If people on the pictures want me to remove it, please feel free to ask so! )

Fiona, the Lush Preston Manager makes the lovely facemasks with us :)

Nibbles and drinks for us! The cookies were rally nice ;)

I had a lovely cup of tea in this lovely cup!

The immaculate eggception! Makes me want to take a bath!

Michael is introducing the perfume range!

Fresh products used for our own face masks

Other products used for the masks

Beautiful bathbombs and other bath products

Clipper's tea workshop!

Hello lushies!

Today, I want to tell you about a lovely time I had in Lush on Tuesday!

All the UK lushies probably know about the Clipper's tea promotion! For those who don't know about it, here is what it's all about: Clipper, a brand of fair trade tea, has offered their client the possibility to go for a 1h30 workshop in Lush. To be one of the lucky person taking part in your personal workshop, you need to find a green tea or green tea and lemon clepper's tea box with a little pink coupon! And after looking for one for a few weeks, I finally found it!! YES!!!! ;)

So after booking on the Lush UK page (entering the 4 numbers and 4 letters found under the pack), I was off to Lush on Tuesday! And I had 1h30 of pure happiness! When you get there, you are offered a cup of tea in a beautiful clipper cup.

And then, you start either cooking or experimenting in a lab, just as you want to see it! More simply: you start making your catastrophe cosmetic facemask! And it is so much fun! You have to squash the blueberry (it hurts your fingers a bit). Blueberries are really good to deeply clean your pores, bring the oxygen in there that will kill the litttle bacterias that cause those horrible red spots.

We then mixed the blueberries with other ingredients like talc, calamine, glycerine, almond oil, etc. It was great fun, except for the fact that calamine powder ended up in my tea :( In the end, it did not look as blue as the ones in the shop, but it seemed like it was because we did not squash the blueberries' skin enough!

And then, you get a lovely facial :) Mine was done by lovely Stacey from Lush Preston! It is just heaven, a nice massage, using lush products like 9 to 5, full of grace, a toner tab, and of course, you get to try your hand made catastrophe cosmetic mask!! :) It was just a wonderful moment! And then I was off to step class, and the wonderful smell of products used on my face during the facial kept surrounding me, it was great!

One last thing, if you go, do not put on your best clothes. Why? Because you will most certainly end up with talc, calamine or blueberry juice on you!

After this long post, I think its time for me to say good bye lushies!

Enjoying a ME time

Good evening Lushies

Tonight is only a very quick post!

If you like to pamper yourself and spend 15minutes just for you, then here is a good way of improving that time!

For me, its of course all about Lush, so my evening routine lately includesultrabland for a nice cleansing, followed by Eau roma to remove all the excess of ultra bland, then scrub my lips with sweet lips, and the finishing touch for the face: imperialis!

Then I move on to all my dry bits: elbows, heels and anckles are all treated with lemony flutter! ^^

And last but not least, I moisturize my legs with either imperialis or hottie massage bar!

And now, the nice little and healthy touch to it: Clipper's green and lemon tea! A nice warm cuppa to cleanse your body from the inside just as you have cleansed it outside with all your gorgeous lush products! Added extra: some say it help fight cancer! And it tastes really nice too!

That was my little evening post, now I am off to my little Me lush time!

Good night lushies!

No drought

Hi Lushies,

Not long ago, I've discovered a new concept: the dry shampoo! (Thanks Lush)

I am French, and we don't really have this "dry shampoo" there, so when I first read about it in the lush times, I was really curious to know more about it. For those unfamiliar with the concept: a dry shampoo will make your hair look and smell fresh! It is good when you are in a hurry, or a big event where you can't wash you hair!

But as I was kindly reminded, it is NOT A PROPER WASH, neither does it replace it! So Lushies, even if after reading this article you plan on using, or you are already using it, remember this: you need to wash your hair with a proper shampoo regularly!

Anyway, due to popular demand, even though Lush wasn't really a fan of dry shampoos, they gave in and gave us: No Drought.

As it is the first dry shampoo I tried, I can't compare it with any other. But I have adopted it!

The first reason why I love it: the smell: citrusy and fresh, like a lemon cheesecake, or a candy! And the smell will follow you all day long!!!

Then, as some of you may know, I have very oily hair (although it is getting a lot better ever since I started to use only Lush products on my hair!)! And I guess most of you have heard the rumor saying it is not really good for your hair to wash them everyday. So, whether you believe that, or don't have time to wash your hair in the morning, you can use No drought!
I use it the day after I washed my hair when they look oily, and the result is immediate! My hair don't look oily at all anymore!

It is in the former of a powder that you apply on your hair and then you brush it out! To put it on your hair, 3 options: put some in your hands, rub your hands together a bit and then put on your hair! You can also put the powder on your hairbrush and brush your hair with it! But my favourite way of using it is to apply it with a big brush (the same you use to apply your blush), put some powder on it and then apply on the oily places of you hair (ideal if only your roots are oily!)!

Well that was a long article, I should probably stop now, and if you have any question, feel free to ask!

See you next time lushies!

Lemony Flutter

Hi Lushies,

Any of you has really dry patches on your skin? Like very dry elbows for example? Well I do, and thanks to the Lush Preston Staff, I have found the perfect product to deal with this problem!

Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter
As its name states: its meant to be a cuticle butter, but I don't use it as such at all! it is extremely moisturising so perfect for my very dry elbows! I have been using it everyday for a week, and it is almost as if I had never dry elbows!

But elbows are not the only place where you can use it! I have a tattoo on the inside of my right ankle, and my skin there is VERY dry. The result is that my tattoo is not as neat as it should be. So I use just a tiny little bit, and then my tattoo looks a lot nicer. Some of the lovely people at lush preston also use it on new tattoos to help the skin heal!

And the last place I use it is on the my heels! My heels are extremely dry and cracked, so I use just a little bit on there and it seems to be working (I have only been doing this for a couple of days).

As far as the smell is concerned, it is not my favourite, it smells of lemon (no really? didn't guess by the name of the product ^_-!), and lemon is not something I really enjoy! But the smell is not that strong, so when I use it after having used other products (like hottie), I don't really smell it anymore!

And last but not least, a pot of lemony flutter will last you AGES! No kidding, the amount you use is so tiny, because you don't need more! I am ready to bet mine will last more than 3 months!! So see you in 3 months for the answer to that question!

See you lushies, until then, enjoy all you lush goodies!

Hottie

Hi Lushies,

Today, I talk about the very first massage bar I have ever tried!

The little story about why I came to chose hottie is quite simple. I am currently trying to lose weight so I started sports, going to step and zumba at least twice a week, if not more. For those who do not know it, in zumba and step, you jump, dance, go up and down a step! So by the end of the class, your muscles will probably be sore!

So I chose Hottie to relax my muscles after I've worked out! I really love the smell: Vanilla and other things I don't really identify! I just warm it in my hands, put a little bit on my legs and then massage it on my legs! And my legs are then really soft, and smell really nice! And I don't know if it is thanks to hottie, but the next day my legs are not sore ^^

However, I thought when I used it I would have a warm feeling on my legs, but no. Well, as long as it works, I won't complain, it still is a nice feeling, soft and relaxing, when I use it!

One last thing I loooove about Hottie is the bumpy side, apply the oil on your skin using that bumpy side it is like a massage already, and it really helps to relax tensed muscles!

Until next time, enjoy your massages!!

Wonderful facial at lush!

Hi Lushies,

Today, my sister came all the way from France to visit me, and our first stop was, of course, LUSH in Preston! We were suppose to go to the Rock Chic event, sadly it was moved to another day! But the good news is that the lovely Fiona from Lush Preston offered us to still have a facial this afternoon!

So we went to have a Facial, and Lushies, if you have yet to try it, let me tell you, it is an amazing experience! You get an amazing face massage, by lovely lush staff, using great lush products! A lush heaven! You start with a cleansing massage with ultrabland, then, it is cleaned from your face with one of the tonic water, we had Breath of Fresh air! This is followed by a massage using full of grace, a very nice and moisturizing face lotion! The excess is cleaned with Eau Roma water, and your facial is finished by the moisturizer that best suits your skin!

To sum up, it was a wonderful moment, thank you again to the Lush Preston Staff! It was awesome!

See you next time Lushies!
